My hair is wavy and I am considering one. Will it help rid frizz? What was your experience with a Brazilian blowout?

I have never had one but I have some friends that did it and looked great. I've considered getting one myself but I just don't want to lose any of my volume (which I don't know if that would happen). Anyways I think if you go to someone who knows what they are doing, you would get great results.

I use to actually do them. never got one myself. It does help with frizz as thats why most people got them done. Idk if I could justify the price just because its a bit extreme but it can be a long process so thats mainly why. Alot of people who I did them for really enjoyed them. Some had curly hair and loved there curly hair but it was frizzy and this helped.

I have only seen these blowouts. In my opinion, they look great the first time or two, but in time, the hair looks dry and too straight at the ends. For people with very curly or frizzy hair, as the roots grow out, the curly/frizzy hair grows out and looks different from the straightened hair. Not a pretty look - especially in humidity. I suggest embracing your waves. There are amazing products (Deva Curl is one) and ways to completely get rid of frizz without damaging your hair. For instance, curly-haired girls should never brush their hair. Products and proper styling - without heat - will give you the shiniest, healthiest hair ever!

I have curly hair and during the summer months its very hard for me too keep my hair straight and frizz free...what I found that works for me is the garnier frutics Brazilian smooth shampoo/conditioner paired with the fructis moroccon (sp) oil treatment.

If hair is forced to be straight and is not meant to be, it will frizz. The straightening treatments will only work as long as there is no outgrow of new hair and will damage the hair (unless you keep it short enough to cut those dry, dead ends off). I do have a friend who's done it for years, but keeps her hair at shoulder length and it looks great. I don't know how it withstands humidity though...

I think you're better off changing your hair routine rather than doing a brazilian blowout. What are you currently using to combat frizz?

BAD IDEA!! Brazilian blowouts can actually damage your hair. I got one once and it seriously split my ends and made my hair very frizzy. Just go for the Japanese Blowout. It's much better than the Brazilian blowout. I'm just saying it's a better recommendation.
