Yes thanks Jen - even that website says heavy exposure to cinnamon MAY cause skin irritation and allergic reaction... Which is not a definite for every single person who doesn't expose themselves to heavy doses... And that's all I've ever been able to find - websites or professionals that say exposure to lemons or sugar or anything else MAY cause those things - which leads me to believe that there are no conclusive studies or evidence out there that has tested these theories - and if you use them properly and in small doses then there is no harm in it - so we all can do whatever we want with our skin because there is no scientific evidence to suggest otherwise - I know that the skin has an acid mantle that supports acidic environments and the pH of a lemon is about a 3 compared to our skin which ranges from 4-5 - while most cleansers out there range from 7-10 on average - I did find a scientific article on the pH of skin here: http://www.medicaljournals.se/acta/content/?doi=10.2340/00015555-1531&html=1 that supports more acidic cleansers that are in the range of 3-5 so I really don't see the harm in using a lemon on your skin and then washing it off before you expose yourself to the sun and using SPF - I agree there are harmful ways to use natural products just as there are harmful ways to use store bought products / but I just don't appreciate when people try to tell others to not use natural products just because they have a different opinion - that's fine for you but if it works for someone else - then who are you to tell them not to use it? When there is no scientific evidence or data to back up your claims? That makes no sense to me and I find it to be rude - we all are entitled to our opinions so I don't understand why I can't have mine and support the use of raw natural products for skincare purposes.
