So my skin is changing. Some days it's oily and other days it's normal. But my eye lids have been especially dry. Well today I applied some matte eyeshadow by MAC and it went on choppy and uneven. I applied primer and everything. Any suggestions on how I can make my shadows go on smoothly and evenly? It's just my luck that when I get good at filing in my sparse brows, my shadows go all crazy.

Thanks

What primer did you use specifically? Also did you use an eye cream before you put on the primer? And did you give it time for each product to set in before applying shadow?

I used a cream eye cream by La Roche-Posay. I use Urban Decay eye primer. And I give a few minutes in between each application of all my skincare and makeup before applying the next product. This is my routine that I've been using for months now. The only difference in my skincare is the addition of Boscia's Sake Balm but I don't apply that to the eye area. Sake and eye just don't go together well in my book. I have changed my diet. I drink tons of water and eat a lot healthier.

Which UD primer did you try? I had great success with the anti-aging one and it works like a dream for me personally but I have oily lids so it may or may not work the same for you but another primer I like is by smashbox so maybe you can try those too.

@Diana, can you please tell me the name of the anti-aging UD eyelid primer you recommend? I use eye cream on my lids, but my eyelids crease so badly that I've stopped using the cream. They still crease, though, and I've tried bareMinerals Primetime primer and Senna Cosmetics eye primer, but neither keep my shadow or concealer from creasing. Any suggestions?

Is it possible you had some of the creams Sake Balm or La Roche still on your finger tips? Could the change in weather be a factor somehow? It is strange that is seems to happened out of the blue.

I would switch up between cream & powder shadows. Just to give your lids a break from powder shadows. Esp. now that the weather is changing. But when my lids get super dry & sometimes peely, I'll use Egyptian Magic Cream on my lids at night to heal them. But Vaseline will also work. I don't have oily lids but I do use Urban Decay Shadow Primer in ENIGMA. I'm not sure if you can get it anymore because it is a limited edition product. But its just like the UD Primer in EDEN, its just a darker shade than EDEN.

I've always used the same products in the same way. Even though my skin has been somewhat normal, my eye lids are always oily. I live in Florida and it's still 85 to 90 degrees here everyday. I'm going to take Marleen B advice and switch it up. Maybe my lids are getting tired of all the matte shadows. Even going to try paint pot eye shadows. I need something simple for everyday. Thanks for all the help.
