So I absolutely adore wearing dark lipsticks, mostly matte, at least once or twice a week. I exfoliate and moisturize my lips before I apply lipstick, doing touchups, and after. But no matter what my lips start to peel and it looks horrendous. I love my vampy lipsticks too much to give them up, but I don't want to look atrocious while wearing it. Any ideas?? Thank you so much! Xx

Maybe you're dehydrated. Try drinking more water.

I have a similar problem because I'm a lip biter and I do it constantly without realizing it
When I notice my lips look torn up I wipe off all my lipstick, put in more lip lam and start again with a fresh application of lipstick

I try and rotate formulas. I find that if wear matte lippies for two weeks straight I will come down with dried out lips no matter if I use a lip balm or serum underneath. It bites because some of my fave colors are matte and I don't have them in lets say a creamy stain or lip stain.

I Agree with Jacqueline and the lovely ladies above! I would like to add a weird thing though- most drugstore lipsticks (not mattes) have caused my ENTIRE lip to lift and peel off. 🙊 Not pretty. Something really bothers me, I haven't gotten the ingredient pinned down, frustrating! Maybelline Vivids has the most adorable Summer colors, I got so many compliments on a bright pink... Until my friend gasped at me a few hours later. I'm okay with Milani, not perfect, but okay. Never had this happen with a higher quality lipstick. Weird?? Just in case you are also 👽...😂

Yes^^^ thats what I meant by brand, I have the same problem. I've had that with L'Oreal, Maybelline, and Wet N Wild. But never had this issue with high end lipsticks...
