I've never tried cream but I love powder, it's really easy and I think it's great for beginners. I use the shade Sombre from the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette.

It depends on your skin type if you have oily skin I think you should get powder & if you're dry you should get cream. But to be honest powder is a lot easier like anisa said. If you're a beginner try out powder see how it works for you :)

It's about preference and your skin type. Generally speaking, if you have oily skin, you may do better with powder. Dry skin may do better with cream. But also you may want to consider what kind of foundation you use, liquid, cream or powder. Cream & liquid foundation does well with cream & powder contours but powder foundation would probably do better with powder contour only. These are not hard & fast rules, just considerations. But also think about what you're more comfortable with when it comes to blending.
