So I got a Clinique primer and it was ok until I put it on top of moisturizer it would ball up. Not a big deal it still worked alright I fix the problem. But I'm looking for a great primer that will help my foundation look absolutely flawless.

I love my Prime Time foundation primer. You can get it at Sephora. The brand is like BareVitamins or something like that. It's very smooth and makes my foundation glide on smoothly!

Your primer and foundation can disagree with each other if one is water based and the other is silicone based. For me personally, the only primers I've ever used that actually made any difference at all are the Makeup Forever Step primers. They have several different types that do different things, I.e. Smoothing, hydrating, color correct, illuminate, etc. My favorite is the yellow tube, it's the radiant primer. However I've heard people rave about the smoothing one, it smooths the skin, shrinks pores, helps with texture. Hope that helps!

Oh and I just read your other post. The moisturizer that seems to be a staple for most mua's is the Embryolisse moisturizer. It also comes in a version for those with oily skin, it's called the Embryolisse Hydra Matt. I use it and love it!

My favorite is the hourglass primer but it works better for silicone based foundations or for a mattifying look - it's not great for dry skin or dry patches though.

I personally moisturize and let it sink in for a good 5-10 minutes before applying primer. If your primer and foundation have different bases (such as water, oil) then it will ball up or look patchy. Make sure you're using a primer and foundation with the same base and make sure you're using one that is specifically for your skin type.

If it the White Clinique primer then something is wrong if it's the coloured ones then it needs warming in your hands and pressed into skin.
