So I've been dying my hair for a few years now and about a year ago I noticed that it was breaking off and thinning out, but only on the left side. I thought this seemed strange so during the summer I cut my hair about 4-5 inches (was supposed to even it out) but sadly it's gone right back to how it was before the cut. I just need some help so that I can get my old, healthy hair back!): if it helps to show how drastic it is, just running my fingers along a strip of hair breaks off anywhere from 5-10 strands of hair. :( please help!!

I'm going through a similar situation ✊🏽 Honestly I have been looking for products to help me but.. It gets worse due to all the chemicals , best solution j found were home hair thinning remedies yes they work I been doing a avocado, banana and mayo with raw eggs and have seen the impact on my hair it truly helped

My suggestion is to do a deep treatment once a week. And change out your current shampoo and conditioner to ones that have less harming ingredients. No sulfates parabens or chemicals , my hair is curly and a few years back my curly strated to fade from all the chemicals of dying and heat I was putting in my hair I decided to purchase deva curl and it has brought my curls back

I would not dye you hair for about a year. Not dying it for that long helps.

I would avoid heat at all cost. It took me almost two years to get my hair healthy again after damaging it. If you're concerned that you're losing too much hair go see your doctor but if it's just breaking off try deep conditioning but don't deep condition too much because too much protein will cause your hair to break too.

As these beauties mentioned it takes time for fresh hair to grow out the damage and you really need to take good care of your new hair too - so yes avoid heat at all costs (or use a heat protectant spray if you need it and follow with a serum or oil to put back moisture) and get regular trims every month - after you cut off all the damage - because no products can repair damage they can only prevent - once the damage has been done it must be removed in order for healthy new hair to replace it - I had the same thing happen when I went blonde at a salon that did a horrible job and killed my hair - I had to chop off all the blonde and then take good care of the new hair - also invest in a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that really helped me too so hope it helps you :)
