The best IMO is the original naked palette I also love my naked 2 basics palette, I've recently been looking into the smashbox full exposure travel palette it has some really stunning shimmer shades and some gorgeous mattes & its only $24.

I like the Naked 2 the best--but that's because I have a cooler skin tone. Any of the palettes are great---but 1 and 2 are the best.

The Lorac palettes are my favorite. I have all 3 naked palettes and I love the colors in the Lorac palette better, they seem to have more variety.

I also suggest the Lorac Pro Palettes. The first is warm toned, the second is cool toned, and both have an equal mix of matte and shimmer shades, mostly neutral with a few fun colors. They also have a Pro Matte Palette which is all neutrals and matte shades (:

I love my Naked Palettes. If you want more matte shades instead of shimmer and glitter then you probably won't like them, I personally can't ever get enough glitter or shimmer, so I love them lol. Too Faced Chocolate Bar (the original 1st palette) is also a nice neutral palette, I don't own it just because I already have all of the colors pretty much with all of my other palettes; but Too Faced has some really nice eyeshadows. Lorac is also pretty nice too.

Zoeva has a couple of neutral palettes if you want something wallet-friendly. The Balm has 2 neutral palettes called Nude'tude and Nude'dude which are both amazing. Both Zoeva and The Balm palettes are really pigmented, with great blend ability. They have great staying power and never crease on me.

Have you checked out coastal scents? they have like 300 and some individual shadows to build pallettes with, and then quite a few pallettes.
acevivi pallettes on amazon are really good quality and they have several pallettes.
w7 makes pallettes that are supposed to be an almost perfect dupe for the naked 1, 2, and 3 called in the nude, in the buff, and slightly toasted. I havent tried them yet myself but the swatches and reviews are promising.

I gave away my Naked 1 palette as there was too much glitter and fallout for my taste (at my age). I've had a couple of Lorac shadows that I loved in the past, but haven't tried their mattes. They're well-liked here on BL. I personally have the KVD Shade & Light matte eyeshadow palette and am personally pleased with it. I find the colors flattering, blendable and lasting. (I use Mally's shadow base first.)

For neutral colors, I definetly prefer the Naked palettes, expecially 1 or 2. They are a bit expensive but definetly worth it!
