A liquid definitely gives a cleaner and a more precise line but just like Riley said some prefer pencil because it gives that smudged look.

Liquid is harder to work with in my opinion. Have you tried felt tip? You have more control and still have a very precise line! Pencil isn't great for clean precise lines. I think gel is the easiest to work with, but everyone has different preferences!

Liquid felt tip would prob be best. Pencil gives that really mysterious smoky-smudgy look, while liquid gives a thin, subtle flick (well, it may not be subtle depending on how thick you paint it on)... Felt tip liquid is like a blend of the two and really easy to handle-- I would go with that! :)

I think it all depends on the person everyone has different likings & also use the gel or liquid differently. I personally like gel & liquid. Pencils I feel like are more to smudge :) mpo.

Whatever your preference and whatever works best for you, I would try the nyx liquid eyeliner or the elf liquid liner, they are both great and inexpensive!
