Have any of you ever gone to work/school/an event or just a day without makeup?

How was that day different?
Why didn't you put on makeup?

I'm sorry if you guys think it's weird. I want to try it and I'm just scared.
If any of you did it I'd like to know your positive and negative experiences. Lol
Thank you.

All the time. I hardly ever wear makeup when I'm at work--except mascara. Makeup days and regular days don't really seem different to me.

In the past I think 6 years I have never gone out in public without makeup on until a couple weeks ago. I didn't put makeup on because my family and I were going through an incredibly difficult time and I didn't have the energy to do my makeup. I went to school that day, and a lot of people came up and asked if I was okay. My friends knew that if I didn't have eyeliner on something was wrong, so not having anything instantly told them something bad was going on. I actually received a few compliments though, saying I was really pretty naturally and such. So it was scary, but it also was strengthening in a way. It helped me get over some of my insecurities of people judging my natural face. I think overall it was a very nice, refreshing experience. I think you should try it Love, you might be pleasantly surprised by what happens :) Xx

I wish I had the confidence to do that! I just have really bad acne scars that I don't feel comfortable showing! I currently live in the dorms in college and it was incredible difficult being around my roomie without makeup on! And walking to the bathroom to wash my face, etc. but now that I'm used to it, it feels very liberating!

I have a lot of acne scars... really dark ones and sometimes I go to the mall without makeup, I don't care what random people think of my scars/ no makeup , no one ever told me anything about my scars
Fearless G just remember no one is perfect, and if people judge you by your "imperfections" that's just shallow and their problem!

Jacqueline your "and don't give a fig" comment really made me laugh

I hardly ever wear makeup. I have a collection of it but it just takes so much effort to put it on and then I always forget I'm wearing it and I start rubbing my face. I only ever wear it if I'm going out to dinner or doing something important. My husband knows what I look like with out it. Our friends and his coworkers do too and no one has ever told me I look ugly. I used to wear makeup all of the time, even to sit at home. Trust me once you do it you'll get used to it.

I go from one extreme to the other, either I have a full face on or no makeup at all. At first people thought I was sick because they know how much I love my makeup but now everybody's pretty used to it

Yes I have! My advice is to start with baby steps, that's what worked for me, as someone who was used to wearing a full face of makeup daily - remove one step of your routine everyday and let people around you get used to seeing you with less makeup. When I finally got around to going out sans makeup, I often get told I looked very tired and whatnot, but those comments stopped and people have told me I looked fresh faced, have good skin, etc.

Remember that makeup should be fun, and not something that you should feel obliged to wear. All the best!

I personally don't leave the house without makeup, but I go makeup free when I'm at home. I found for me the process of putting makeup on really relaxes me and it boosts my confidence in the fact that I have several nasty scars from having a massive breakout and from having had chickenpox as a little kid. I know I don't have to wear makeup, but it's a blessing to be able to do something that relaxes you and makes you not as self conscious in public.

When I was in high school all the way until half way through grade 12 I wore makeup everyday but one day I decided I'd rather have the extra hour sleep, at first I didn't stop wearing it completely I just switched to a lighter coverage foundation and only did my brows, once I realised I didn't actually like light coverage foundation I just stopped wearing it completely and would just do mascara. I found easing my way out of wearing a full face everyday was the best way to stop wearing makeup in my case, it was good to be able to scratch my nose/eyes if they got itchy without having to worry about touching up my makeup afterwards too lol. I didn't notice feeling any different and I started to get comments about how I looked better without it, I remember one guy saying "there's nothing wrong with your natural face" and even though I was like whatever yo I feel bomb with makeup on, I started to feel more comfortable in my skin. I don't regret not using it as much at all, I'm actually glad I'm not so reliant on it anymore.

I RARELY wear makeup else its a date, some type of dressy get together or I just wanna be fancy I love makeup but the application of a full face is to much time. in my senior year I started wearing makeup everyday but after a month I just wasnt with it lol. but I lovve makeup even just playing in it with no where to go.

If I'm really feeling lazy and not going anywhere special - like to the grocery store or running errands that don't require me to get out of my car, then I won't wear any. Obviously I won't wear any as well when I'm not working and laying around my house. I wear a full face of makeup when I go to work. It's night and day with me - people at work don't recognize me without any on. They'll ask if I'm feeling okay or if I'm sick. And to be honest, I don't like how I look without makeup on. I have a red complexion, blonde eyebrows, blonde eyelashes (which makes my eyes look tiny) and a lot of acne scars on my chin and under my nose. Doing the "no makeup makeup" look on me looks awful too. I have to have my blended, gradient/smokey shadow looks, winged liner, filled in brows, and foundation. I feel best and more confident in myself when I wear it.

I wear makeup everyday. but since having my newborn.. its very hard to get a.full face done. so I just go without anything on. I couldnt care what people think. as I don't wear makeup for them. but its lovely to feel the breeze and sun hit your skin. if ice got a little bit of time il just do basic foundation.. brows lashes and blush. 5 minute jobby x

I do it quite often. For the past month I've been wearing it on a daily but then I met up with my grad advisor barefaced and she was kind of shocked to see me without it. Everyone has come to expect it but when I go bare then they are disappointed. And most of them don't even wear lipstick let alone a full face of makeup. So it feels good that they appreciate the creativity I put into putting on my face. Sometimes I don't wear any because I'm either super late getting somewhere or just flat out lazy/not in the mood. Or I could be dealing with a skin reaction and find makeup pointless (I'd rather focus on healing my skin).

First off it isn't a weird at all in this day and age it's actually kind ironic it's almost more "natural" to see females of all ages in makeup then to see them without its kinda bananas now I've loved makeup for years and years my mom and sister love it so I got into it at a younger age I was 12 when I got my first full makeup bag ever since then I was inlove with it but because of my love for it I use it so often that it stopped being fun and became something like a job I had to do I just wasn't enjoying it and I didn't want that to happen so I took off the makeup mask that made me so comfortable and I went just over five weeks without makeup it was hard at first but by the end I got really into my skincare routine and that really helped give it a try I promise you won't regret it :-)
