Hello! So I was wondering whether I should begin using anti-aging creams from now (meaning that I am 19). I remember Michelle Phan mentioning it a long time ago plus the fact that from 19 years of age and on, our bodies produce less and less hyaluronic acid, I seriously consider to start using anti-aging creams. (Note: nothing heavy.)
Now I have 2 questions:
-Should I? Is there any expert on skincare here (no offence to others, but I want to be sure) that can advise me?
If so, note that I have oily skin and acne.
-My mother says that if I start this early I will have wrinkles sooner and that when I reach the age that I "truly" need anti-aging stuff, nothing will be effective... For me this sounds REALLY stupid, and it makes no sense (again from my point of view), but, is there any chance that this might be true?
I really need good advices here ladies.
Thank you for reading and sorry for my bad english.

It's good to start anti aging products in your early twenties but you don't need anything heavy duty or truly "anti aging". the best thing you can do now is use products that are moisturizing like eye creams. moisture is what keeps your skin healthy and looking young. I highly recommend Fresh Lotus Eye Gel. it's meant to preserve the skin you have now. also having a strict skincare routine is extremely important in keeping your skin healthy for years. many people think they don't need to take care of their skin and by the time they reach 30 or 40 they start anti aging products which usually don't show much improvement to their skin. healthy skin should start young. as you get older you can start to incorporate more intense anti aging treatments.

Hylauronic Acid is to seal in moisture. Right now, Broad Spectrum Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Vitamin C serum and a good moisturizer are simple, preventative measures that will keep skin bright and nourished. Honestly, something inexpensive like CeraVe AM and PM are great for skin and simple to use. I agree, nothing beyond simple, common sense..such as not sleeping in making, using real cotton puffs, never tugging at the delicate eye area...has you covered. A C product evens out skin tone and brightens...but isn't a must at 19..just preference.

I would just use a very moisturizing/thick cream at night, possibly one that has vitamin E because that helps skin a lot, I recommend the Nivea cream in a big round blue package, my grandma& mom have always used it& they both look so young! I've also been recently using it& it makes my skin look amazing :)

Thank you Rozberry. I never sleep with make up on. I don't drink, ever (believe it or not I'm afraid I will like it and become alcoholic) and I don't smoke. And I use a lot of sunscreen. But as for the eye tugging... well I apply some excess pressure when I remove my mascara..
Gabby I tried the Nivea once about a year ago (and even though I said I have acne, its consentrated on my jawline, my chin and the sides of my face) and it made me break out everywhere. Everywhere (on my face and a little on my neck) so no thanks. Never again!

Using anti aging products aren't bad at 19. But as Shauna stated, you don't need anything major! Another thing, pluck your eyebrows instead of waxing them. Waxing causes the skin to sag!

I just turned 20 and I just use really good moisturizer for the day and a serum beforehand. I use actual vitamin e cream at night and that seems to really be helping. Last but definitely not least, always always always wear spf on your face and neck.

I agree on nothing too heavy-duty. I like Neutrogena products for young skin. Maybe a retinol cream at night, like their HEALTHY SKIN LINE. A low-strength retinol cream will exfoliate your skin to prevent breakouts & build collagen. An eye cream is a must, maybe one with a built-in sunscreen so you can wear it during the day. And for day, a vitamin c serum (vitamin c is an effective anti-oxident to protect your skin from free-radicals in the environment & sunscreen over it. And of course your eye cream.
