So basically around my nostrils I constantly have flaky and dry skin. I exfoliate every day and moisturise but during the day I notice that I have dry skin in the same place once again! I wear the Rimmel London lasting finish 25hr foundation and I don't wear powder on my face because of the dry skin (I know, I really should wear powder!). I know that the dry skin isn't because of this particular foundation as I've tested many foundations and I have had the same problem. Is there something that I am missing or doing wrong?!

What's your skincare routine at the moment? Make sure you're using a good moisturizer and facial oil all over your face but especially in that area. I have the exact same issue but a good regimen as well as a barrier product has helped it go away. I use dermalogica barrier repair. it protects against environment factors & free radicals which are what would cause dehydration. I put it all over my face some days but never miss a day of putting it on the sides of my nose and I haven't had an issue since.

I am very oily, but get dry areas around my nose & mouth. To combat that, I use a facial oil on top of my regular mouisturizer just in those areas which helps w/ the dryness.

I used to get that same problem allll the time, I feel your pain! It could be a few things. Are you using an astringent? Astringents (toners with alcohol in them) can dry you out pretty badly. Also, it's great that you're exfoliating and moisturizing. My favorite moisturizer of all time is CeraVe's moisturizing lotion. It pretty much got rid of any dryness I had. I can't recommend it enough. Other things you can try are using a beauty blender instead of a brush to prevent too much exfoliation and making your skin flaky, and mixing the foundation with a moisturizer so it stays opaque, but not with all that heaviness of a foundation.

Hi Kayla, I try to steer away from using toners as they tend to dry my face out and I already use a beauty blender and it does help a lot but I still experience the same problem with the dry skin on my nose! Thankyou I will definitely be trying your tips!
