I recently applied for a part time job as a cashier and to my surprise, I actually got a call back from someone wanting to schedule a job interview with me! I've never had a job interview before and I have no idea what is appropriate clothes/makeup/hair. I imagine this shouldn't be too formal since I'm a teen and this is a part-time job, but I definitely want to leave a good impression! Any suggestions?

Blazer and skinny jeans
Or long sleeve cardigan with solid color tee underneath and skinny jeans
And a pair of flats/wedges

Always look professional. Simple colors, no open toe, no jeans.and your best accessory is a smile! good luck!

Little side note, just because you're a teenager and it's only a part-time job, doesn't mean it's not formal. You'll be working for and representing the company and turning up to an interview in jeans always gives a bad impression. I'm 17 and work in a day nursery (a traditionally laid-back working environment). I was 16 when I got the job. Here's a few ideas similar to what I wore

Completely agree with Hannah! These outfits would all be great and it never hurts to be a bit on the formal side. It shows that you are professional and that you care about getting the job! I would do black dress pants or trousers with a blouse and black flats as well. Keep makeup and hair simple but neat. Good luck!

With my first interview I wore what I would if I wanted to look a little nicer than normal, so I wore a black and white dress with black tights and a black blazer and boots (I have more of a darker and edgier style) and my makeup I just did what I normally did and then I just straightened my hair, good luck and keep smiling and eye contact is important (I still need to work on that)
