Claire, did you read the information regarding AHA's and BHAs and other ways to remove/prevent blackheads that I posted in response to your other thread? There's truly a wealth of information.

I use the tea tree oil and it works like a charm. I agree with rozberry's post.

Biores has strips you can use. they don't work on everyone but wen they do work they are amazing and they're not expensive so you can give them a try.

Thank you and yes I did Rozberry! What would be some BHA exfoliants you would recommend?

I run dry and sensitive. My derm has me using AHA's paired with Retinoids. I spot treat as needed with the diluted tea tree recipe..since my skin type and regimen mean few blackheads. My own skin care routine is geared at anti-aging...with treating acne as a secondary.
You sound like you need to approach this from where acne is the primary issue. BHA's are best suited for oily skin. If you are oily, I think the Garnier line is affordable and has the BHA's that oily skin needs. Garnier also has formulas based on each skin type.
Have you considered visiting an Esthetician for a facial and extraction? We have an Estie here named Sarah who would be more than happy to steer you in the right direction. She's incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and a sweetheart.

Ahhh..link didn't work. Her name is Sarah N. We have another lovely Estie, Traci, here who is smart as a whip, knows her products and is a doll, but I haven't seen Traci L. here in some time. :(
You should also ask our skincare study, hardcore ingredient and regimen pros...Mods Shelley and Kitty. These ladies are all skincare powerhouses and I'm sure any of them would be delighted to help you if they can.

Ohh...I almost forgot. You might want to ask the forum about the Smashbox primer with BHA targeted for acne. I have never used it, but reviews are excellent on Beautypedia and Sephora.

You can look for other product reviews by going to Beautypedia and searching "Blackheads" or check out the Makeupalley website. Good luck!
