Right I have long thick hair which I leave naturally curly. I love it long but I'm not sure whether it does ages me and going shorter will make me look younger as I just hit 30 back in July :)

I think you should go for it.

You don't even look 30! personally, I'm a huge fan of long hair (I'm biased because I've always had super long hair lol) and I actually think it makes one look more youthful, depending on how it is styled of course. You look beautiful and I don't think it ages you at all! However, a long bob would look really nice on you if you're really looking for change!

If your not sure you really want to do a lob you can just cut off a couple inches off to see if you like it shorter.

You have to be careful with thick hair or curly hair. It can look really unflattering if its too short. Unless you're going to straighten everyday. My hairdresser told me I shouldnt cut my hair shorter than my shoulders cuz I would look like Rosanna Danna (google her pic). I don't like to straighten my hair & its really full. I only let my hairdresser straighten it once every three months when she cuts & highlights my hair, because she wants to see her highlight job. Talk to your hairdresser & be realistic on how much work you really want to spend on your hair.

Do you have a regular professional stylist you go to now? I always ask my stylist's opinion - they should know what length/style/cut would look best for your face shape and features. That being said, I think a long bob would look FANTASTIC on you! And very professional! it's just finding the right length that will be the key...
