I've never used eyeliner in my 3 years of wearing makeup. (Since I was 15) and I tried some today and it went south lol. Does anyone have any tips and tricks for me? Thanks :)

Whahh! That looks really good!!
I've been doing eyeliner for nearly a year now and it is not even as half as awesome as that! πŸ˜†
What don't you like about your liner? cause from this picture it looks really pretty
If your looking for ways to perfect the wing that try the tape method:

It looks amazing! are you having trouble with the other eye? start by drawing thin lines to mark how long you want it to be and fill in from there

Hm, I would try to make it thinner as it looks a little too thick.
don't go heavy on the tip on the wing either.
Try to make it more sharp and crisp.

I've been doing winged liner for 3-4 years and here is what I've learned :

first off make sure you are comfortable and your arm is well rested on something steady.
some people start off different inner corner, outer corner, wing but I personally like to start off with the wing going from the lower lash line and flick it up towards the tail of my eyebrow. (Usually a big flick since I like dramatic winged liner) after that I start going into the inner corner with short thin stokes and it sort of makes a triangle type shape so I fill that part in making sure I can't see any part of my skin.
oh and I make sure I am following my natural eye shape and once I'm done I'll thicken it up to my liking making sure the inner corner is thinner than the rest of my eye. Remember patience is key when you are first learning winged liner, be patient and try not to get frustrated. Now winged liner only takes me about one minute on each eye (:

here are my favorite eyeliners and some tips :

liquid (NYC, almay) - be patient and careful with liquid.

felt tip (smashbox) - make sure you are holding it horizontally.

gel (Tarte clay paint, inglot #77) - if you want a nice sharp wing then make sure you are using a thin precise brush, although you can use a angled also.

pencil (Loreal) - I don't recommend pencils for winged liner since you can't get any sharp wings with it but if you do make sure the pencil is always sharpened.

eyeshadow/ powder (any) - I would only use eyeshadow/ powder if you want smoked out winged liner.

That is very good! Really though, it's all about practice unfortunately. Practice practice and more practice lol.
If you do use the tape thing, make sure it's medical tape meant for skin, or it can cause problems with your skin like premature wrinkles, acne from the adhesive, etc. Make sure to be very careful while taking it off.

Aw thanks 😊
I tried finding a picture for you with my eyes closed but this is the closest I found lol
I of course like dramatic winged liner but yours doesn't have to be this dramatic (:

I think your liner looks killer. I often rock a thick line and even hyper extend my wing. It's all about what makes you feel good. :)

I love the outcome of your liner and it looks great. Just continue to practice and experiment and you'll be fine.
