When I first apply my make up everything looks fine, however after a couple of hours I find that my foundation has started to settle into my smile lines. It looks awful 😩 I powder my face but this doesn't seem to stop it, any suggestions on how I can prevent this?

What type of foundation and powder do you use? Some powders can set into fine lines and make you appear older- I would try one for that has less coverage and just lightly dusting it on- I especially love translucent powders because they keep my face matte all day and it's easy to blog without turning into a cake-face. I would check out the MUFE HD powder, the NYX HD powder (which I personally like more), or the Rimmel stay matte powder

Try putting eyeshadow primer where the smile lines would be. This is what works for me.

I've used different foundations to see what gives me a better coverage etc, recently I have used loreal true match, nars all day luminous and Estée lauders double wear. I use high coverage foundations to even my skin tone and cover my acne scars. I'm currently using the rimmel stay matte powder and matte maker by maybelline.

Hi Abbie, do you use a primer under your foundation?

I think Talie has a great point! But a primer might also help with keeping the foundation from settling in the lines!
A combination could the the solution! A good primer and a little less product!

Have you considered a peel or series of peels to help fade those scars and even out skin tone? You may be able to say goodbye to needing concealers and heavy coverage...while softening lines. It might be something you would really love. A reoitable, experienced, lucensed Esthetician costs less many times than a derm and will sit with you to address concerns while personalizing skincare. If they can't help, a great Estie knows who can..or if the investment is worth it to begin with.

Well, my first choice of advice would be to use a primer but even then that would completely eliminate the problem if you move your mouth a lot which is unavoidable (I found this doesn't really work for me), so now I nust either don't apply product there at all (your foundation has to be spot on of course) or work around that area and do the rest of your face then apply the rest of the product or in other words VERY LITTLE product to that area. There's no need for it to be caked with anything heavy duty or much coverage in that area.
