Should I dye my hair gray?

I like blonde hair but I'm tired of having to dye my roots every couple months or so and it's damaging my hair. so I was thinking about dying my hair from a black to gray ombre and since my natural hair is black I won't have to dye it more. should I? and if not can you please give me some suggestions on what to do? thanks darlings??

I think it'd look nice but grey/silver is very high maintenance
So you'd have to touch it up very frequently

Manic panic has a dye in the color blue steel and it's a silver color

@leslie As a professional I would not recommend color your hair yourself! Especially with such a dramatic change. It's not because I want you to spend a lot of money. But with that dramatic of a change you can actually end up with an unsightly green undertone. And ombré at home are not usually as nice looking as those!
