Lace lays flatter than silk. Lace is more work because you have to bleach the knots and tweeze the hairs. With bleaching there's the risk of ruining your closure. With silk it's easier to blend and there are no knots to bleach. But if you're skin-tone is darker than the silk it can be a bit difficult to dye. Also, silk is bulkier and usually has a line of demarcation between the lace and silk in the front. I prefer lace. I just tweeze where I want my part and use a skin-tone eyeshadow to cover the knots. Hope I was informative.
