Does the double helix piercing hurt a lot?

Hi, Sammie -- I have a triple forward helix piercing. It did hurt, but only as long as it takes the needle to go through your ear, which is very quick. Cartilage piercings take longer to heal and can remain swollen for a period of time. You really have to keep on top of the forward helix as it is easy to ignore the "backside" of the ear! I got mine pierced months ago and I still specifically clean it every night and morning.
