Since cutting my hair short I've become really inspired by that really laid back, simplistic style that seems to be associated with French/ Parisian women and also the "gamine" style, with the barely there makeup, tousled hair and classically simple outfits.

Clemence Poesy is probably one of my favourite celebrities at the moment that adopts this kind of style.

I'd love some inspiration for makeup and outfits that really channel this kind of look.

What screams French style to you? And what are you favourite kinds of styles that you try to channel into your look?

When I think of French style I usually go to simple colors. Everything seems very simple and more neutral colors or 1 statement piece. Another piece that I think is a go to French look is the striped shirt.

Makeup wise, I think the biggest focal point is fresh looking skin, an overall healthy dewy glow. I would focus more on having a nice canvas, mascara and a lip tint if I was trying to get the look.

Btw, the picture is not mine.

I like this simplistic look. Her windblown hair pulls it all together for me along with her scarf.

These girls are spot on in my opinion. So happy you made this thread- I'm going to Paris next week! As for makeup and hair, the key words are "look effortless", even though it probably took you ages. Perfectly disheveled hair, barely-there makeup (because French women really focus on their skincare).
