My skin has gotten a bit flakey all of a sudden, specifically below (not on) my under eyes, around my eye brows and a a few patches near my hairline. Any recommendations to help with this? I do have dry skin but I have a moisturizer and lotion, and my skin is a tiny bit sensitive so nothing really harsh.

I have dry very sensitive skin too and I love (in order of best to moderate) the laura mercier flawless skin polish, the body shop seaweed exfoliating cleanser, the Dr brandt exfoliating face cream, and the origins ginzing scrub. I sometimes use ground oats mixed with an oil, but mostly for soothing. Any exfoliating wash should work, just work in gentle circles and don't press hard or go fast.

Which moisturizer and lotion are you currently using? Your budget?

I'll definitely look into those, thank you! I'm interested in the cleanser most since I'm looking for a new one. Think using a device like the Foreo Luna Mini with it would be bad?

I've tried those pads before Hailey, I'll need to see if I can pick up more of them. I remember they did a fairly good job. Thank you!

Rozberry I currently use Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion & First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Moisturizer. I don't really have a budget, cheaper is better though I'm willing to pay for high end if it works. I'd like to keep it below $60 if possible unless you get a really good amount for the price.

I don't have any exfoliators to recommend because I don't need any for myself because my Clarisonic takes care of all that. But I have extremely dry skin and I love CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I actually just purchased Philosophy's Back to Nurture serum and I am loving it mixed with the CeraVe. Its amazing, I've been on the hunt for something for my flaking dry skin and this stuff is great. My skin is really sensitive though and I was worried the serum might irritate my skin or cause a breakout and so far it has only made my skin look great and finally feel hydrated and not just some oil sitting on top of my skin not helping with anything like every other oil I've used.

Its $50 but you only need a little bit so I'm sure its going to last me a really long time.

Unfortunately the foreo is silicone and using anything abrasive will wear at it and might ruin it. Plus it would create more pressure than needed on the exfoliating granules.

I will have to say, the laura mercier and Dr brandt ones I got as a sample, and they lasted like 4 months with exfoliating twice a week. I honestly haven't had to pay for either because they always have the little 100 point samples of them at my sephora. But a little does go a long way. The body shop one I use mostly on my body because of the seaweed, but I repurchase it every 4 months or so. I do use it on a larger surface more often though. The origins one didn't last a long time, not enough to justify buying it again anyways. I still have a bit left but I ordered it in June and I feel like I have to squeeze the crap out of it to get anything out, and I only used that one if I didn't have access to my main bathroom in the house with all my daily stuff in it.

I would also check out the ole Hendrickson "nuture me" face cream. It's like a heavy-duty moisturizer, and I use it on my nose and in between my eyebrows, because they get flakey, but it stops the dryness. It's expensive, but again a little goes a long way, I lightly dip the tip of my pinky in it, and I could use it for my whole face lol. I bought it in June and haven't even really made a dent in it. So if your flakes are from dryness definitely check it out. Still exfoliate a couple times a week, but this has stopped me from needing to exfoliate those areas with a cloth everyday.

Well, my own advice as a dry, sensitive gal is CeraVe wash, CeraVe PM (or their night jar formula) and using Josie Moran Moisturizing Lotion for broad spectrum sun protection. For primer, Embryolisse Lait-creme Concentrate is my holy grail. It is also a moisturizer and removes make up. I use it every single day in some way. For eyes, Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream is tops. Really softens and pumps the skin..Soooo hydrating. A bonis, I'd try a trial size of Philsophy Microdelivery Wash. Keeps me flake free prior to my sunscreen and Embryolisse Lait-creme. I had very dry eyes and now...love how fresh my skin looks and feels. For a bit of glow, you might want to snag a small tube of moisturizing MAC Strobe Cream. I also use Jojoba, Rosehip and Sweet Almond Oil on my face. Lashes soft and eye area is so hydrated, it was the first thing my derm noticed. Lastly, I rarely use powder near the eyes. MUFE Face and Body foundation is glorious for drier skin. Hope that helps!

Thank you everyone, with the mention of CeraVe, I took out a sample of their lotion that a dermatologist gave me. Most of my flakes were gone with one treatment.

Lisa thank you, I'll have to experiment and check out that brand. I'm nearly tempted to buy one of their cleansers.

Alyx that's good to know, wouldn't want to ruin my Luna. And I'll definitely have to get samples of those products. Thank you for your help!

Rozberry I'm really interesting in Philosophy right now. Would you recommend that wash for a cleansing tool like my Foreo Luna? I'll definitely look into those products as well. Hopefully I can redo my entire skincare routine.

The Microdelivery is extremely gentle and can be used every day. My derm actually recommended it a few years ago. I also exfoliate with Olay Pro-x Nightly Micropeel...just not every night. (I use retinoids so I like to alternate between an extremely gentle physical and chemical exfoliant...such as the Olay, so you *can* use it as a daily wash prior to applying make-up, but I don't wear foundation every day. I use Cold Pressed Coconut Oil and a warm/wet pure cotton round to remove eye make up and to keep lashes soft.
I use the Olay as my Esthetician would so I keep it away from getting too close to my eye by applying a little coconut oil to the lid and just below my eye..but I do use it on the sides and below...but never directly under the eye...further down and around...as you would a mud mask, for example. You can find more info on the Olay here:
http://www.paulaschoice.com/beautypedia-skin-care-reviews/by-brand/olay/Pro-X/_/ProX-Anti-Aging-Night-Purifying-Micro-Peel
Scroll to "Review Overview" and click to open. I was using Peter Thomas Roth peel and this not only gave me better, noticeable results..it costs $20 less than my PTR. The cheapest I've seen it is Walmart, but I had a Target gift card and got it there since I'm on a no buy...lol I think my CeraVe or your own favorite gentle cleanser would work well if it were incorporated into your routine, rather than just a single cleanser, but that's just what works for me. Plus CeraVe hydrates...that's a must for me. I just cashed in my Ulta Points for my Mario Hyaluronic Eye Cream which is a great buy at $18 because it is rich, hydrating and plumping with so little product needed. The same with the Lait-creme Concentrate. A tube will last a very long time.
