Hello ladies!
took an almost year hiatus from Beautylish & I finally feel like coming back! feels good, that's for sure (:
anyways, I've recently moved to a city far away from any Sephora's (it's been torturous), however I found the Shoppers Drugmart across from me has a wall of Benefit cosmetics! I havent tried a lot from Benefit, apart from their Watts Up highlighter & They're Real mascara. I quite liked them, & since it's the only higher end makeup around me, I wanna get more into their brand.
so ladies.. I need your help! what are you favorite & not so favorite products from Benefit?? I'd love to get some input before splurging! ahah, thanks (:

I haven't tried a lot of their products but here is a little review on them:
Watt's up: gorgeous highlighter, champagne color and easy to blend.
HighBeam: another highlighter but it has a cooler undertone (pink) and fine sparkles. I like it for the inner corner of the eye.
Stay don't tray: primer for concealer and eyeshadow. It is tinted, so it boosts the color of eyeshadows. Less is more. Helps with the longevity but not that much.
Cha Cha tint: goooorgeous tint for the cheeks. It can also be used as lip stain but I find it drying. The color is an all-skin flattering coral. It may look too orange but it is sheer, very natural. Dries fast so you have to apply in quick movements with the finger. Really lovely.
Poise tint: like Cha Cha but in pink. Very subtle color.
Sunbeam tint: a liquid golden bronzer that screams summer. Lovely although it's shimmery.
Hoola bronzer: famous because it is matte bronzer that many use to contour. I like the finish although it is more suitable for light skin (it's barely noticeable in my medium skin tone).
Porefessional: filler for the pores that you have to dab, not swirl. It leaves a smooth canvas. I haven't use it a lot because I don't have large pores.
That gal: brightening primer that gives a subtle glow. It's not shimmery nor glittery but glowy. Very nice to use in specific spots like the apple of the cheeks.
That gal mascara: big brush, gives a lot of volume but nothing that a drugstore mascara could give.
I hope it may help you this review :) if you need any swatch, tell me (I ran out of Poise tint, but the other ones are available)

Not so favorite: porefessional primer. It is supposed to make pores look smaller but it didn't work for my oily skin, my pores looked the same. Then I read it is not supposed to work for oily skin, it is more to reduce large pores in normal skin. I bought it because so many ladies here raved about it but it didn't work for me, anyway you could give it a try!

I don't like high beam & benetint. I don't really care for benefit as a brand.

I've only tried a few Benefit products and I've been pretty pleased with them. The porefessional primer worked well for me, but the pore blurring effect was only temporary. I loved the moon beam highlighter, it was soft and glowy and looked great with my pale skin haha. I also tried their moisturizer in a jar and while it really did hydrate my skin and smelled great, it was in a jar (not the best packaging for skincare) and it didn't have any other benefit. Considering the price of the product you'd hope it would have some other "benefits" than being a basic moisturizer. :)

I love benefit blushes. I think they are simple and easy to use. The colors are gorgeous and youre not going to look like you got slapped in the face. I think a miss for me from benefit is the facial moisturizers. I was not super impressed by them at all!

I really really love the Roller Lash mascara - Its gives nice long and... I don't know how to explain it... fanned out lashes - if that makes sense haha.
Also I just got the liquid hoola bronzer and the normal Hoola bronzer - I like both but really like the liquid version. But like one of the other girls said, its very light. I have very fair skin and on me it looks very natural so on medium-dark skin I don't think it would show up :/

I love the High Beam highlighter as it can be layered to give a natural or more dramatic highlighter, it is pink-toned but I feel it can be used on any tone (I'm yellow toned and I love it). It lasts forever as you only need a tiny bit and it lasts all day for me.

I like watts up highlighter, it has a beautiful champagne sheen, they're real mascara, it gives length and volume but hard to remove, roller lash mascara, gives length and seperation, hoola bronzer is a natural bronze shade with no orange in it perfect for my fair skin, all of their blushes especially rockateur and sugarbomb, it's potent eye cream is hydrating and feels cooling on the skin, facial polish it's a good scrub and smells nice too,bad gal lash mascara givea lots of volume, porefessional primer helps with filling in pores, boiing concealer great high coverage concealer I would not use this under my eyes as it's too thick and heavy, high beam highlighter is great mixed in with foundation and on its own.
I don't like the fake up concealer it has no coverage and does not last long on the skin, their liquid foundation (can't think of the exact name but it's the only one they have) it has very light coverage and does not last long on me and it oxidises to an orange colour on me too, plus it has no shine control.

I also don't like any of their cheek and lip tints they are too drying on lips and they lack pigmentation on the cheeks. Not worth the money.

I like the hoola bronzer and the brow gel they have. The other products I'm not crazy about

Hoola made me break out:( I think its due to all the scents so did Dandelion! That stuff didn't even show up and made me look dirty! Only thing I like is the High Beam it gives a nice glow minus the glitter!

I like porefessional, it works well with my combo skin but I do find it will emphasize any dry patches. I use hourglass primer under it and just apply porefessional to my cheeks where my pores are bigger.
I also like their cheek tints, especially posietint since it's a natural, subtle color for my skin tone. I don't use it much though because it does take more time that a powder and it has to be worked quickly because it will leave dots where I applied it. I find it works best to put it onto a palette then apply with a elf stipple brush than doting it directly onto my skin with the applicator it comes with.
I don't like their box o powders because the ones I have tried (dandelion, sugarbomb, hervana?) were very sheer and needed to be applied with a heavy hand. So it looked really powdery and didn't last long at all for my personal tastes. I'm sure some of the other ones are good but I think there are better blushes out there like thebalm instain powder blushes or colorpops blushes because they last all day on my skin and need very little product to get a good flush.
I do like high beam since it's a pretty pink highlighter that is longlasting. I also liked Watts up highlighter since it's a cream and really easy to apply and blend but it doesn't stay long for me.

I've only liked Benetint. I haven't liked they're real, the porefessional, high beam, a concealer (not fake up or boing, I forget the name) and the stay don't stray. I think they're best for someone young or new to makeup.
