Tomorrow is Decades Day at my school and I was thinking of doing the late 80's early 90's grungy-edge look (sorry that was a poor explanation) but I have no clue on what to wear. Pictures would be extremely helpful, and makeup & hair ideas would be as well :) thanks ladies xx

Have you ever seen "Reality Bites" or the film "Singles"? They capture the look of that time period with incredible accuracy.

Cardigans, flannels, sweats and flannels tgst had been cut at the neck and arm..tights were huge with shorts, granny skirts, lace, motor jackets, Chuck Taylors, Combat Boots, Hats, vests, chokers, florals, baby doll dresses, Levis faded and torn, make up was almost an afterthought. Metalheads had gone this route from the hairbands..which still enjoyed success late 80's...leather pants, jackets, crosses, bangs, all black..lots of pewter rather than gold.

I'd take a look at Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani in the nineties, Kate Moss in the nineties, Natalie Portman when she was in Leon and Liv Tyler in the nineties (especially when she was in Empire Record)
