I just wanted to know what are primers and what they used for??

It's a base for your eyeshadow to prevent creasing and help it last longer :)

They are also used as a layer underneath foundations, they can accomplish many things (mattifying, illuminating, smoothing etc) and gives your foundation something to grip on to so that it can last longer and be applied seamlessly
