Have you cleaned your brushes lately? That will make you makeup cakey. Is your skin dry? And when was the last time you used a face scrub?

Try just using one dark foundation. I like liquid. I don't really think ppl need all the ones they use. If put one on very well that is the right tone it will be more then enough.

Urban Decay's Deslick or any other kind of makeup setting spray is amazing at breaking down makeup and making it look more natural. Another trick I do is after I'm done applying my cream makeup like my foundation and concealer I take a BARELY damp sponge and just blot it allover my face, it helps with removing excess I've applied and it makes everything look less masky.

Try using a full coverage, buildable liquid foundation, and just apply more foundation on the areas you need more coverage

Exfoliate before you use make up, clean your brushes regularly and try stippling your foundation on, you need less with this method, you can buy a special brush for that or use your regular brush!

Thank you ladies. I do wash my face regularly (scrubs included) and wash my brushed often. I am currently using Revlon color-stay foundation and for the first couple of days it looked great, but after that it got all cakey. my face tends to be oily but recently its been pretty dry... ill see if the setting spray will help any :)

Maybe they are too old, sometimes they change consistency I you have them too long! or you could try using less foundation:)
