Has anyone purchased these in lighter shades (like 18 or 19) are they worth the money? Do they show up on your lips and do they stain?

I work at sephora and my experience with them hasn't been great. Because of my job I've been able to try a range of the colors and their just isn't much color. Either light or dark. They are really just a stain that stays more hydrated than other stains.

They aren't bad or anything but they aren't my favorite either. And I really like most YSL products a lot.

I love the other of their lip sticks. Super creamy, last a long time and stay relatively well. Plus somehow all of the colors look good on everyone. Very flattering.

Are they the same as lip tars?

Oh no. Lip tar doesn't come in a tube. All YSL lip color with the exception of the stains are solids. Lip tar comes in a squeeze bottle stains everything and bleeds. But if course that's just my opinion.
