You could buy plastic bins( decorate them if you don't like how they look;)..it kinda depends on how much stuff you have and what stores you have access to :)

In advance, sorry for this long response. I share a bedroom with my boyfriend and organization really is everything when you have a lot of stuff. Everything needs its own spot according to how often you use it, size, shape, color, and that's just to name a few. If you are space limited try things that can be hung on the wall. For me, space is tight and I redid an old medicine cabinet into a jewelry/ makeup show case. I can even put clutches or extras on top of it. Also those portable drawers in cute colors works amazing for things from clothes to makeup to shoes. Your closet can be your best friend if you organize it wisely, I have a shoe rack in there (going upwards to fit more) and a portable drawer to fit our bathing suits and under garments. Our closet isn't even that large it's like a common room closet. Instead of the regular closet doors though, we took them off and put up a curtain and rod (less clunky and more chic.) Cute baskets which are in the clearance section at Target currently are great for all kinds of things like makeup for example. Jars for brushes, pens, penicls, etc. Even organizing your closet is key to good space and flow. For the clothes in your closet have them all hanging one way but when you wear it flip the hanger and at the end of the year all the clothes that are facing the original way should be donated, or something along those lines. Don't be a pack rat and only keep things you have used within a year, toss anything that is in ruff shape or is only there because you feel bad for getting rid of it. A book shelf, night table, and a dresser are key furniture pieces to have a good flow or even a desk if you have school and tons of books/papers. I hope this was helpful and I will try to post a picture of my boyfriend and I's room.
