I'm going to get my nails done soon so I won't bite them, but I'm kind of new to this what lasts longer acrylic or gel fake nails?

I prefer acrylic. And they last a long time, but of course you'll need to go back and get them filled as your real nails grow. However if you bite them they will snap.

Yes gel can last you about a month depending on your nail growth cycle. Acrylic is a fake nail put over your own with gel it's your own nails but they are painted with a blend that makes them chip resistance. hope that helps!

I've had both gel and acrylic same as my mom and sister-in-law, most nail aestheticians will only do acrylic on someone so many times as there comes a point where they will not last and will cause damages to your nails, I was also in a nail course and this is what they taught us, if your doing it not to bite as I had the same problem I'd always bite acrylic right off, where gel I do not and with acrylic you do still have to worry about hitting them then them breaking, not so much with gel, but that's just my opinion

I do gel. A little more expensive, but personally I think its stronger and more natural looking!

Depends how heavy handed you are with your nails, acrylic are much stronger than gel. @Brandi gel are originally the same idea as acrylic, both are fake nails on top of the natural nail, a blend on top of your own nail is just called an overlay and can be done with both gel and acrylic, they're for clients who don't want extra length :)

Also acrylic do not ruin your nails any more so than gel, either will ruin your nails if they aren't applied or removed properly!
