Any Idea How To Strengthen Your Nails?

My nails tend to get relatively long for me, so there is a fair bit on white on top. (I've been about 6 months not biting my nails) XD
when they get to a certain length, they tend to snap easy. there are lots of tiny cracks on my thumbnail. I tried to include a pic, but it didn't work. I'd be really grateful if anyone could help  :-)
