I was thinking about dying my hair the whole ombré effect. I have really dark brown hair and I am scared for it to look trashy.
I don't know if I want to get it done at the salon or do it myself. I saw a commercial for L'Oreal Ombré kit; is it any good?
What are your suggestions?

I will tell you from experience that it's hard to do it on yourself!! I think I it kinda depends on exactly what you want to do...more highlights/natural-ish or you just want all your hair to do the fade, but it's hard since its hard to tell what exactly is going on in the back. I never tried the L'Oreal kit but it seems easy to use, just don't know how easy it actually would be.
If you're a fast learner, get it done at a salon so you can see how they do it and then you can do it or maintain it at home? But yeah...it's kinda hard to get the back of your head correct when it's your first time :/

Just wanted to add...I'm not a professional, so if you have experience with hair you may find my opinion scarier than reality!

I appreciate what you have to say! I've dyed my hair before on my own. If I do it to myself I'm scared of frying my hair and end up getting my length cut off since I'm trying to grow it out :/
