I'm 18 and I'm seriously thinking about getting it done. I'm sick of contacts and glasses. But I'm very scared. I'm going to talk to my eye doctor soon. If anyone has experienced it please share your story with me. Any negatives? Positives?

I'm getting it done this summer! I've seen how the procedure is done and even though it sounds painful, all the people I know have done it say is a breeze and super quick! Make sure you ask your doctor if you're a good candidate for this procedure :)

My boyfriend has had it in his right eye (3 times, and a couple of other things I don't remember what theyre called) and he's pretty much blind in it now, also his eye does this weird cats eye thing where it reflects at you in the right light, it's seriously cool haha
but yeah- I wouldn't let that affect your decision haha, he's got various health problems that probably affected it lol

My husband had it done over 10 years ago and still has perfect vision. Just find a very reputable and experienced Dr.

My grandma was almost blind and had it done and she's super happy about it, I think it's 3 years ago now, and as said she's really happy and looks so much better now, she has to wear sunglasses very often though when outside, but that's not such a problem for her =) but your eye doctor will for sure be able to guide you and tell you all the things you need to know.

Well hazel that is really scary. one of my fears is that it'll make me blind. :/ thanks everyone tho. Elaine I'm glad you commented becuz another fear of mine was if it lasted and if any complications would occur in like 10 years!

I had it done about 5 years ago and I still have 20/20 vision. I wish I would've done it sooner.

My mother did it, and she was as terrified as you, but she was fed up of glasses so she went along with it. It's been almost 5 years, and she says that her eyes are so good and she can still see as clear as the first time.:) just get a good doctor, no matter how it will cost you. It's always better when the doctor is better.:)
