Have you tried not setting it with powder for a day to see if it makes a difference?

Also how do you apply the powder, with a brush or a sponge?

If I dibt set it witg a powder it transfers because its a moose texture. I use a stippling brush.

It could be reacting with your moisturiser?

Make sure to use match a water-based foundation with a water-based moisturiser, same for oil-based or silicone-based.

Primer evens out the skin and helps use less products because the product spreads more evenly. The Mac setting spray refreshes your skin and blends hard makeup.

And does that fix plus really help? I couldn't believe that a spray would set it considering moisture is what takes it off... also ppk say that it gives a dewy finish I like matte.

Because you have dry skin ( like me) you should NOT use anything that will make you matte because the reason it's getting patchy is because of the dryness. The dry spots will get patchy. You a use a really good mostureiser and let it really sink in (5-10 minutes) and a nice silicone primer you should do just fine! You can still use powder bur try to use a less drying foundation. That's how I solved my problem.

Be sure to exfoliate or use a hydrating facial mask before applying makeup, and use a primer, I have problem skin too and this really helps keep my foundation looking perfect :)

Do you need that high coverage? Do you mean patchy like your skin is flaking? If that's the case you should try a more intensive moisturizer. If you're finding that you're getting oily/splotchy, you may want to look into a primer that also has the same base (I think studio sculpt is water/gel based)? I can't really make many suggestions as I have super oily skin. You can try prep + prime skin refined zone treatment if oil is your problem...just in those areas of concern.

Oh and Clinique makes pretty good foundation (at about the same price point) for all kinds of skin, there's one that's more hydrating if I remember correctly, and I think Superbalance is for combination skin...hope this helps!!

Exfoliate check! what kind of mask?
yes I do like full coverage
and I mean that my foundation goes patchy not my actual skin. like my foundation fades in certain areas particularly around my cheeks and jaw is most noticable
also thanks Jacqueline ill check my moisturizer spf and get back to you!

I like using an oatmeal+yogurt mask, or just honey, they leave my face so soft! x

Definitely exfoliate, I recommend a sugar lemon exfoliator that you can read about here: http://www.lovelittlebeautyblog.com/2013/01/how-to-battle-dry-skin.html
Then definitely moisturize, then try using a primer before foundation and a setting spray after foundation, maybe stop using setting powder

My mostureiser changes between my Avon nutra face cream (when I need more moisture) and on more of a daily bases I use a moisturizer that helps tan my skin over time. It really helps. And for a primer I keep getting samples at hourglass primer. It feels amazing on the skin.
