Teasing (back combing) is when you take a small section of hair and you hair spray the roots that won't be shown when you lay the hair down and after you hair spray it take a teasing brush which is a small brush with a lot of bristles and comb it back a lot (back combing) and it will feel like a lot of knots which is the point and then once your hair has as much volume you want hair spray it then let go of your hair and smooth out the part of hair you do see but make sure you don't take out your teasing so just do it lightly then hair spray it to make it stay... its kind of hard to explain rather than watching youtube has omg sooo many videos on it that you can watch and it takes practice good luck I hope I helped.

Basically back combing is to make you hair volumized or like you've gotten out of bed:L what you do is get a piece of hair, start at the tip at comb to the roots (comb your hair backwards). hope I helped:)
