You might need to wipe off excess mascara with a tissue before using and then slowly build up coats.

Rimmel London lash accelerator is brilliant. Also, rub Vaseline on your eyelashes every night - feels weird but works wonders for the next day:-)

I wipe the mascara wand on the edge of the tube. (This way you aren't wasting the product) and this will knock off the excess product. Then between coats cling through the lashes with a metal eyelash comb. When you do this you can use any mascara and not have any clumps.

Buy disposable mascara wands and comb the clean wand through your eyelashes after each coat.

I agree with Bree wipe off the excess and use multiple coats, also have you tried maybelline one by one it separates your lashes and makes them longer :)
