Hello!! I just moved into my basement and I don't really have any furniture (ie. cabinets, drawers, wall decor) I want some things that are colorful and have a vintage-y look! Any suggestions on where to go? And nothing that is too expensive as I'm paying for this myself!
Thanks to all the responders :)

I would definitely say thrift stores. I've found some HUGE mirrors at a Salvation Army in my area for $1...mind you these are heavy and would cost around $300 easy if I purchased them from a store. Paint or some fabric can do wonders to old things for far less than brand new...you're recyclining AND will have one of a kind furniture :)

Target, Thrift stores, Ikea, Walmart, and Salvation Army are all good places to start. For used pieces never get a couch, bed or anything with cloth as it MAY have bed bugs (yuck!) However they are great for pieces that need a little TLC. You can go to a craft store such as Michael's for cheap and cute dresser pulls/knobs and you can redo the paint with any color you choose. This is what I do for a vintage look on pieces and you can stain it after you paint it for that vintage look.

Try looking up on Wanelo (its a free app!) it's like google but weeds out all the garbage and gives you the cute results (:

I think you should check your local thrift stores, find something super unique and buy it! then you can sand it and paint it whatever color you would like which actually is a fun project!(for me atleast) also many of the thrift stores I've seen furniture at have really well built amazing vintage stuff for so cheap! good luck!
