So I'm debating if I should or should not buy a red lipstick by MAC. I usually buy my lipsticks by NYX because they work great and are also not $30!! (I always purchase their "perfect red") but I really want something better. Is MAC's red lipsticks worth it, and if so, what shade of red do you recommend? Thank you so much :-) XX.

Definitely try Russian Red lipstick from MAC! It's a matte, super bright red! It's pretty much a standard red lip for anyone! I have this lipstick myself and I love it!

Although I am not a brand whore I rarely buy non mac lipsticks. And they are not 30, they are like 16 and my favorite red is ruby woo its matte and goes on amazingly.

I just bought my first MAC lipstick over the weekend and I love it. I got Chatterbox. The formula and color payoff is amazing. I'm in the states so it was $16 compared to $30 but now that I have one I would pay $30 for the next one if I had to. If you wear it a lot I think it would be worth it.
And I've heard great things about both Russian Red and Ruby Woo.

If you were looking for a really good lipstick I would go to mac and pick out what you think looks best on your lips

Russian red is gorgeous, but honestly I think you should go to a mac counter and talk to whoever is there about it, they usually know what work for which skintones :)

I love Ruby Woo, it's the only red lipstick I own lol. But they have many shades of red and I'm sure someone can match a good shade for you.

I'm Canadian and I pay $18 for my MAC lipsticks. I order online all the time and I have never paid more than $22 (assorted limited edition colours) for a MAC lipstick. that being said, I love ruby woo! I wear it almost every day.

I never actually buy their lipsticks, I just save up my empty containers and recycle them there & you get a free lipstick! but I really like ruby woo also.
