I hear of a lot of people using coconut oil as a moisturizer. If I put organic coconut oil from the grocery section on my face will it make me break out? Have you guys tried it?

I think it depends on the persons skin. I definitely would not use it on mine. Check out this blog. http://www.thelovevitamin.com/1177/is-coconut-oil-an-acne-menace-or-an-acne-miracle/

If you have oily skin then yes it will definitely break you out really bad due to thw fact that it will clog your pores even more, I suggest researching a good combination moisturizer just to be on the safe side.

Me and my sister have oily skin and it doesnt make us break out. We've been using cocnut oil as a moisturizer for 3 years now, it works great just only apply a little bit. If you were to apply a lot THEN you could break out ,just use a little :).

You have to be careful with any kind of oils, even if they are natural because oils create a barrier on the skin so that bad things can't get out and good things can't get in! Just think of oil spills on the ocean! Coconut oil is great for your hair and for elbows, knees, hands, shins, and feet. I wouldn't put it on your face, neck, thighs, or upper arms because this is where most women have problems with irritation and the upper arms and thighs is where a lot of toxin leave the skin which is why irritation bumps appear. They appear because lotions and potions and products prevent said toxins from escaping through sweat so little pockets form in what appears to be a whole host of skin conditions. Especially when oils are solid at room temperature such as coconut oil you have to be extra careful! But a natural alternative is always better than something made in a lab!

Also, don't use too much of the oil. I use coconut oil on my face and hair all of the time.

Extra virgin coconut oil is suppose to be the best! I am obsessing over this on my skin! it is amazing and doing wonders for my eczema and a current allergic reaction I just endured! This will definitely be a standout for me this week on my beauty channel @ YouTube.com/graceandglamor! I picked mine up at gnc!
