Hi everyone, first time poster. I would love to go a light ash blonde. Any advice on how I could begin to achieve this? My hair has what would be classed as ombre at the moment, a faded out pastel purple on the ends, which lightened up quite well the last time I bleached them. I have about 2 or 3 inches of regrowth on the roots and a semi on my mid section. Would bleach be my best way to start? Any and all advice welcome, thanks!

One thing about ash blonde is it has a greenish hue , so be careful it might not be the color you are looking for. (:

Whoa. Yeah, bleach it if you want 3 different hair colors.

First, you need to remove what's in your hair now. Get thee a round or two of hair color remover (sulfur based, such as Color Oops), clarifying shampoo and protein conditioner.

Once you've gotten all the artificial color out of your hair, you need to very carefully apply bleach - not at the ends. No need to rebleach those. Save the roots for last, because they will develop faster due to the heat on your head. This is tricky and I honestly don't recommend doing it yourself unless you have some practice at applying mixtures to different parts of your hair at specific intervals.

In any case, if you do it right, you should end up with an even blonde. At that point you can achieve the ash tone you desire.

Thanks so much, sounds too risky to do by myself, I have a friend who is a hair stylist so looks like I'll be calling on her to be safe. thanks so much!
