Emily, how do use the SK sponge? I tried it and even wet I felt like I was beating myself I in the face.
I have 2 SK brushes from target that I love for foundations. The synthetic buffing brush with the white handle and the flat top synthetic multipurpose brush with the black curvy handle. Also, the elf powder brush is pretty good for foundation as well. For powder I use the SK blush brush with the white handle.

For inexpensive foundation brushes, I definitely recommend the Eco Tools foundation brush or the ELF flat top powder brush!

I use a flat stippling brush for foundations, thicker type. I dont normall use the classic foundation brush because they give me streaks. For powder brush, I use smaller brushes such as contouring brush for point application of setting powders to areas that I need to set. It works the best for me, doesnt leave a cake face feel.
Try Samantha Chapman's Real Techniques brushes. Good quality, affordable price.
