How do I expand my clientle?

Hang out at the salon magazine website, or behindthechair or watch a couple of Tabatha Takes Over reruns. Plenty of ideas to mine there.

As a client, I value a clean, contemporary space. I don't trust hairdressers with bad (or even funky) hair. I don't trust hairdressers that are wearing jeans and flipflops. It annoys me when I don't know exactly how much something is going to cost, what kind of color a salon uses, or exactly what kind of services are offered. I appreciate a THOROUGH consultation, not just "so...what do you want...oh I get it...ok." I like it when what is going to happen to my hair is explained to me in detail so that if I do or don't like some aspect of it I can explain exactly why and know what to avoid. I also appreciate when I am asked to rebook. I appreciate it when styling products are explained or suggested to me, and I appreciate it when the hairdresser gives me advice on how to maintain and style whatever cut I got.

Basically, clean spaces with a professional attitude and phenomenal customer service get the most business.
