I have red hair and fair skin that is acne/redness prone and usually leans towards dry, translucent in some places (awful blue veins above my eyes), and bumpy-ish. I've tried a ton of different foundations, Maybelline, Revlon, Covergirl, then tried something a bit higher-end with Benefit oxygen brightening makeup (and the powder too) and I always like it in the store but after a few days there's the inevitable disappointment that it is just like everything else - makes me look washed out, sometimes cakey, sometimes too orange, it's just always something...

I've been getting more and more upset and discouraged because I just feel like there's a million different choices and it's so daunting trying to pick one, and once I do it does nothing for me.

Any help/suggestions/insight would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

Hey girl! I'm an esthetician & I have the same problem you do.. I have tried a BUNCH of products, but I have found one that works wonders!! It's called 'ERA foundation' not only is it water-based, most of it is made of water but looks like you are putting makeup on! You can find it online by looking up on google.. It is a little pricey but I use makeup everyday, & it lasts me for a good 6 to 8 months. I love it & I won't use anything else! And to help with the blueish color around your eyes..try going to Target (if you are near one..) & look for e.l.f skin care makeup line & find there color correcting face primer. You apply that before your makeup & it helps take away those uneven/unwanted colors. Whatever is opposite of the color wheel, use that color! It's considered a "complimentary color", but it will cancel out the color you don't want on your face! Hope I helped just a little :)
