You might want 3-4 brushes. I would use an eyeshadow brush to apply the base and lid color. If you don't have a eyeshadow brush then you could use one of those sponges the give you, your finger or even a q-tip. Then use a crease blending brush ( a fluffy brush) to blend the crease and blend everything out so it's not so harsh. Then you could use the brush you used for eyeshadow to apply the highlight. A blending brush, A pencil or smudger brush, and angled eye brush, a flat eye brush, and a small detail brush. My favorite drugstore set has all that you need with that. Eco Tools 5 pc eye kit. It's cheap and they work amazingly.

I would use a fluffy brush to apply my transition color (1), then a large shader brush to apply color on the lid (2), then I would use an angled shader or fluffy brush to apply color in the crease (3), and then use the first fluffy brush that you used to apply your transition color and blend!! So 3.
