I personally like both. But, tend to use more shimmery. I don't think one looks better than the other. It just depends on what you are wearing.

Ok is shimmery more for night time?

Shimmery is better for the lid and as a highlighter. A matte color is better for the crease.

I love my too faced matte palette more than my UD Naked. Only downside is matte shadows are a little more difficult to blend than those that have shimmer. To add sparkle for night I add too faced glampire over my lid.

I like to use matte during the day and shimmer at night. It also depends on what I'm going to wear.

I love using matte shadows, then adding glittery or a shimmering highlight shadow to any of the places I want.

Anybody know of any large cheapish palettes of mixed eyeshadow colours that are good. I fancy trying some different colours that won't cost the earth

Just search 120 colour eyeshadow palette on google. It's listed under loads of different brand names which is a bit odd but it's easy to find it and it has SO many colours. It's under £10

Elf has good deals on eye shadow. I don't think they're as pigmented as stuff sold at sephora but they are inexpensive and you can get lots of colors to play with.

Depends on what look your going for, matte tends to look more sophisticated and professional whilst shimmery can look romantic and fun. all depends on the look.

I prefer mattes over shimmer due to my hooded eyes.
