Hi guys! I have several makeup brushes and I think it is time to clean them... But I have no idea how. How do you clean your makeup brushes?

I fill my bathroom sink with dish soap and warm water. Then you take the brush and dunk it in and out of the water (you should see the product coming off into the water) and as your doing it rub the bristles a little with your fingers. Do this until they seem clean, and change the water as it gets dirty. Then you leave them out on a towel to dry. I suggest doing it overnight because they take a while to dry. This is time consuming but it works really well for me and is cheaper than buying brush cleaner.

i use baby soap and put alittle in my hand, the wet my brush alittle and rub it in the baby soap. then rinse it out. if u keep dunking the brushes into that sink full of water more bacteria could get into your brushes and that's not good for your face. hope i helped!! :)

I use a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, to condition the bristles, and dish soap to clean them. Make sure it's anti bacterial. Mix the two together and then scrub your brushes with the mixture. Also, when you dry them make sure you place them upside down in a cup. If they're right side up the water will run down towards the glue and loosen the hairs. So please please make sure they're upside down. Hope this helps and good luck!!

Dani c. word of advice its really bad to lay ur brushes on a towel the bristles can dry in crazy ways its better to dry them standing up in a cup with ample space or hang the bristle side over the counter

Oops I forgot to add: I know that the bristles will loosen from personal exp. I have had to throw away 1 brush and I have ruined my favorite brush by not following this rule. So please make sure they're upside down

It helps if u also buy brush gaurds (like $5 at walmart) to keep your brushes in shape and that way you can put your brushes upside down in a cup or something to drain the water.

Mix equal parts of dish soap and olive oil :) The soap cleans, deoderises and disinfects while the oil stops the brushes drying out. Mix um up, put some in your palm and swirl your damp brush in it and see all the icky shtuff come out :D Rinse with cold water and repeat until squeaky cleeaaan :) Leave to dry on a towel or something idk :/ Hope I helped ;).

I use shampoo n put little in my hand. Wet the brushes a little and rub the colors out and rinse it.
Then put very little amount of conditioner in my hand and rub it in and rinse very thoroughly to keep the brushes really soft.
After cleaning, i place them on a dish upside down (and put a piece of paper towel in the middle to absorb water) that would make sure the glue stay dried inside. So you can use the brushes for a long time.

Just basic soap works great but you should be cleaning your brushes at least every other week if not more

I use organic shampoo to soap them up and let water run on the brushes until the water runs clear. For spot cleaning I use makeup wipes.
