*Sigh*
Essential oils do not clean the scalp. They're the last ingredient listed, after the multitude of other CHEMICAL cleaning agents. Wen keeps the oils in better than a flat shampoo, but NOT better than any other conditioner BECAUSE of all the CHEMCIAL cleaning/foaming/emulsifying agents in it.

Guys please just stop. A girl posted this question because he needed answers and information not so that people can have an argument.

Essential oil scalp massage will cleanse the scalp of any bacteria, yeast, fungus pollutants etc. They will also regulate sebum and ph levels and provide nourishment and energy to the follicles and roots. Reference Aromatherapy for Healthy Hair

Thanks Liz, but I do enjoy a good argument. I think the original question has been answered, so no harm no foul in Allyson and I continuing our conversation.
Anyway...and how do you propose they do that when they are listed so far down that they come after preservatives? By the way, when you buy essential oils plain, it is generally (depending on what it is) NOT recommended that you put it directly on your skin because they can be VERY irritating. Some of them will flat out burn you.
As for providing nourishment to the follicles and roots, your diet and your bloodstream does that. Regulating oil levels is a matter of not completely drying out your scalp with detergents, which, again, is a benefit of any old conditioner and your skin regulates its own pH level automatically. You don't have to rebalance it in any way.
The essential oils are NOT pulling the weight in Wen. They're just not.

I believe your original statement was " essential oils DO NOT cleanse the scalp" at which point I directed you to some information that proved you incorrect. I said nothing about other ways to get the same benefits so your argument is invalid on that point. If you state something such as essential oils do not cleanse the scalp and then directed to information which proves the contrary, you should keep an open mind. I keep an open mind with everything you have said, with some interesting points.

I'm not trying to convert you to wen, it's not for everyone and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Obviously you believe it's not for you because of A,B, and C. All I'm trying to do is provide you with some information about your points.

Stephanie D, I couldn't help but laugh when you said that lol(;

The "information" you directed me to comes from a completely NONCREDIBLE SOURCE. It's not a peer reviewed article, it's not even from someone who appears to have any training at all. You might as well send me to the website of a horologist. Hell, wikipedia would have been more credible. Goodness, do you believe everything you read on the internet? Why don't I send you to a couple of websites claiming that we didn't land on the moon or that 9/11 was an inside job? Jeez.
Even so. Let's assume for a minute that I took that nonsense link seriously.
Again, why don't you explain to me how essential oils are supposed to clean jack on your scalp when they're listed at the bottom after long list of KNOWN CHEMICAL cleaning agents?
All opinions are not equally valid. Your preference is valid, but your "opinion" that the essential oils in Wen are somehow the root of the magic superpowers that it (doesn't) have is simply and totally false. I can be of the opinion that the Earth is flat. I'd still be wrong.

*for clarification, when I say someone who appears to have no training at all, I mean that this page appears to be written up by an online shop clerk. No source or author is even listed, nor are their credentials.

TRUCE!!! Who cares about Wen. Theres so many other good products out there. You both should try Kevin Murphy. All the products are sulphate free even the styling aids. Kevinmurphy.com. Youre both right- end it. Its getting pretty ridicules.

Your right Jessica, this person obviously is stubborn and feels the need to be correct 300% of the time. I'm not going to engage her any longer. I'd be better off talking to a wall! Haha I've heard of Kevin Murphy before, ill have to look into it!

I would rather use l"oreal sulfate free products, not worth the price. Plus heard some people had hair loss from reading some online reviews.

If I have the time and the inclination to have an argument about something, I will.
Sorry, you're wrong, and quit filling people full of BS. If you like the stuff, fine, but don't try to call me out and say that I'M wrong when you don't know what you're talking about and you can't back up your claims with anything but a storefront page where their JOB is to SELL YOU essential oils. Of course they're going to tell you it has all these benefits. That's how they make money.
I've explained to you backwards and forwards why Wen has the same benefits as a much cheaper conditioner. I never said that it's bad or that it doesn't deliver - what I said was that it wasn't anything special. And if you want me to pull out the ingredients list and go through each item one by one, I will do that. Unlike you, I can actually substantiate what I'm saying.

AND furthermore.. Some people feel the need to be right about every damn topic.. That makes them a "know it all". Its so not worth it..

Yes, dear. It's much dumber to actually research what you use than it is to buy things willy nilly and then simply making up reasons as to why it works or doesn't work. *rolls eyes*
