I have very straight, thin natural hair and I love the way my hair looks when it's wavy. I was wondering if you can get a loose perm just so it has some waves and body? Also how bad is the damage from perms and how do you take care of it, etc

don't get a perm it will damage your hair try getting your hair wet before bed ad whatever product you use then braid your hair and then in the morning unbraid your hair and I'm sure you'll have waves:)

You can definitely perm it loosely, i have dead straight hair and find it really useful just use larger rollers when perming it. I didn't get any damage from it, dyeing caused more for me and it should be fine if you condition well. Also you'll find when styling your hair with heat it holds for a lot longer, so in the long term it's much better and easier than using heat all the time

We use organic perms at our salon so they're a lot more gentle and work beautifully. The tightness of the perm all depends on the size of the roller.

Just ask for a bigger size roller and it will give you loose waves

Oh no, I don't like perms, it ruins your hair and leaves a bad smell, and it reminds me of old lady's, lol

I have permed my hair 3 times in the past... I have also bleached my hair and I believe that was way more damaging. As long as you keep it well conditioned and don't use hot tools you should be good. Just make sure you talk to your hairstylist about what will work best with your hair. And you can definitely choose loose waves over right curls.
