Gross! Try adding some shading around the edges if the gnarly skin, to give it a realistic rotting appearance. Looks great so far!

My only critiques are to blend the edges around it. When you're building up with the latex just keep those parts as thin as you can. I only suggest this because in the industry blended edges are a HUGE thing. So the earlier you start practicing making them as thin and undetectable as possible the better you'll be at it :)
And secondly I would add a darker color to some of the deeper areas to give some depth. Any area you want to be deep you can shade darker and it gives the illusion of depth.
Overall it looks great though!!! Good job :D
