The problem: my eyelashes do not hold a curl! Even with using an eyelash curler and mascara, they do not curl upwards. The best I can get them is sticking straight out. Naturally they are average in length and thickness, and when I close my eyes you can see they go straight down and touch my eye. I have a feeling it's my eyelash curler. (As it has no brand name.) I cannot wear any other mascara besides the one I use now because I have ridiculously sensitive and oily eyes.
Are there any eyelash curlers that really make a difference when used? Or do I have to experiment and see which one fits my eye shape best? Thanks for responding!
Eyelash Curler: unknown brand (has ripped out an eyelash before, OUCH)
Mascara: L'oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes (in love with this one, $11 though!)

I have shu emera (I think that's the spelling) & I use a blow drier very briefly on the curler then use it, be sure to test the temperature on your wrist/body. Heat will help them curl. I've done that a few times.

I use the ELF eyelash curler. Try curling in three places with medium pressure for 10 seconds at a time. First curl at the base of your lashes, then the middle and then the very tips. Good luck!

If you are using a metal curler (like Marilyn T. said) you should heat it, using caution if you use a blow dryer (you can burn your eyelid). I really love the little plastic one from Japonesque! And very recently have fallen in love with Sephoras heated lash curler!
Another thing it could be the way you are using the curler. You should be starting at the base of the lash line, and curling all the way out to the tip. It will give a really nice swoop.

Thanks for the comments! I had no idea I was supposed to curl in sections.
