I want to curl my hair but i cant seem to find a way to curl it without looking like a puddle :/

Try using a flat iron! It makes the curls less intense as if you were to use a normal curler

I have naturally curly hair but straighten it most of the time. I had it cut with layers and only just learned that having my hair cut on point instead of blunt cut helped lessen the poodle look dramatically. Also sometimes when I curl it I don't curl all the way to tip. I will alternate with every other chunk of hair so the tips don't puff out do much.

Try curling just the lower half of your hair (from your ears downwards) you'll look glam without looking like a poodle :-)
